From Wednesday, December 9th to Friday, December 25th, the Watch/Promotion section on the 5th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku will be hosting a Christmas fair for Jaeger-LeCoultre . The fair will feature new 2020 models from the "Master" collection, a round watch that combines sophistication and elegance, the iconic "Reverso," the sporty and elegant "Polaris," and the "Rendez-Vous," a gorgeous and feminine style equipped with complex mechanisms. In addition, customers who purchase eligible models during the fair will receive a free custom-made strap, available exclusively at Isetan Shinjuku and Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store.

Now, let me introduce some recommended watches that you can actually try on at the venue.

This model is inspired by the original "Memovox" produced in the 1950s and 1960s. Aiming to further highlight the "excellent chiming mechanism" first created by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1870, it features an alarm with the iconic "school bell" sound combined with a date display at the 3 o'clock position.

With a blend of respect for tradition and innovation, the Master Control Memovox exudes a solid, reliable look thanks to its improved in-house developed caliber, two finishes on the case (polished and satin), and a new Novonappa® calf leather strap. It's a pleasure to simply admire, as its transparent case back allows you to view the rhythmic dance of the hammers striking the peripheral gong.

The Master Control Chronograph Calendar, a reinterpretation of the Master Control, is recommended for enthusiasts who love watches with chronograph functions. The bright color of the grand rose gold case creates a calm atmosphere and exudes a quiet presence. The convenient chronograph and moon phase functions for everyday life are accented on the silver sunray-finished dial.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Mariner Memovox is a new model that pays homage to Jaeger-LeCoultre's first diving watch. While diving watches are often associated with a thick and bulky image, this watch is different; it is a true "luxury sports watch," combining a classic look suitable for business settings with the functionality to withstand active situations.

As a diving watch, it boasts a water resistance of 30 atmospheres. Typical of super-compressor type diving watches, it features a three-crown structure: the upper crown activates the alarm mechanism, winds the watch, and sets the date; the middle crown operates the inner bezel and is screw-down to prevent unintended movement; an orange security band alerts the diver if the crown is not fully pushed in, ensuring high safety. The lower crown is used to set the date.

Another notable feature is the built-in alarm function. The Caliber 956, introduced in 2008, has been completely redesigned and incorporated into the watch. Unlike previous models with closed casebacks, this model features a transparent sapphire crystal caseback, allowing the wearer to see the hammer striking the alarm. This required a complete redesign of the striking mechanism and movement, and in this model, a gong is attached around the movement. An openworked tungsten rotor adds a sporty touch, and the movement of the striking mechanism and the delicate Côtes de Genève decoration on the movement's plates can also be seen.

The popular "School Bell" alarm sound, a key feature of the "Memobox," remains unchanged, so long-time fans should be satisfied with the result.
