Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2020 men's collection expresses a dialogue between womenswear and menswear. For example, a black tuxedo patched with lace is inspired by the brand's signature womenswear pieces.
Another highlight is how the design team reflected on their numerous inspirational trips to Japan in the early 1990s, expressing their thoughts and feelings through motifs and embroidery in a unique way.
Check out the latest setup, available for pre-sale at the pop-up shop.

The calligraphic flower motifs are taken from hand-painted artwork in McQueen's design studio, and the flower motifs, which appear to be projected with watercolors in fuchsia pink, black, ivory, and indigo, as well as X-rays, are displayed and magnified like a kaleidoscope.

Alexander McQueen's signature tailoring is cut, pieced together, and reconstructed. The exploration of hybrid wear continues this season, with striking suits featuring silhouettes inspired by the Fall/Winter 2019 women's collection.

[Open Report] The brand's core concepts of creation, destruction, and rebirth are beautiful the more you touch them.

From the organic and inorganic elements seen in the pop-up shop's interior to the feminine and masculine underpinnings of the collection, the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, which fully embodies Alexander McQueen's signature contrast and fusion of opposing elements, has finally arrived. It is currently being held at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 1F = Promotion area until Tuesday, March 17th.
This latest collection unlocks the limitless possibilities of tailoring.
The walls are exposed concrete, and the furnishings are based on natural wood. The floor is silver-toned with motifs of flowers and kaleidoscopes, creating a space where organic and inorganic elements cross over, and hybrid wear, where menswear and womenswear interact and express themselves, stands beautifully.
The women's wear, inheriting the men's tailoring that could be called Alexander McQueen's DNA, showcases masculine tailoring, while the men's wear, beautifully adorned with feminine details such as floral motifs, lace, and embroidery, engages in a dialogue with the wearer.

It's also worth noting that the images of ink paintings and flowers that inspired the design team when they visited Japan on an inspirational trip in the 1990s are now participating in the dialogue as a form of Far East Orientalism.
