The correct way to put on and take off delicate gloves, and how to care for them daily.
Have you ever bought a favorite pair of gloves only to find them stained and scratched all over by the end of the season?
Gloves are actually made from very delicate materials and are carefully constructed. Knowing the correct way to wear and care for gloves will allow you to enjoy both new and old gloves for a long time.
Gentle handling is key! How to properly put on gloves

[Step 1] Fold the wrist area of the glove outwards to make it easier to put your fingers in.
First, gently fold the cuff of the glove outwards to allow your fingers to slip in smoothly. The fold should be approximately up to the base of the thumb.
[Step 2] Insert your finger all the way in
Slowly insert your fingers into the glove, starting with your index finger, then your little finger, and finally your thumb. If the glove is not lined and is difficult to grip, do not force your fingers in; instead, insert them gradually until they fit snugly. Gently holding down the folded part with your other hand will make it easier to insert your fingers.
[Step 3] Gently return the folded part to its original position.
Once you've inserted all your fingers, gently unfold the folded part, turning it back and forth several times.
[Step 4] Clasp your hands together to improve the fit.
Finally, lightly clasping your hands together as if in a prayer will enhance the feeling of the fit in your hands.
When removing gloves, keep your fingers together and remove them carefully and without rushing.
The trick to removing gloves without damaging the leather is to hold the four fingers from the index finger to the little finger together with your other hand and slowly remove them.
Avoid pulling only the fingertips of your index or middle fingers to remove the gloves, as this puts stress on the leather at the fingertips. Leather is a delicate material. Folding them too tightly can leave marks, and pulling them too hard can put stress on the leather, potentially leading to damage or tearing in that area, so be careful when putting them on and taking them off.

Whitehouse Cox Care Brush ¥6,600 View Product
Many people feel that they want to keep high-quality leather gloves for as long as possible. With continued use, they mold to your hands and develop a rich, aged look. Here are some care instructions to help you enjoy your leather gloves for many years to come.
▷ Gently wipe away dirt from leather with a dry cloth.
Attempting to remove stains by washing with water or using benzine can lead to discoloration and damage to the texture.
▷ Brush with a horsehair brush. Gently brush with a soft horsehair brush to remove dirt. For localized stains, gently wipe with a clean eraser.
*When using brushes or erasers, always test on an inconspicuous area first to ensure that they do not stain or scratch the surface.
* Rubbing too hard may cause scratches, so please rub gently a few times.
▷ The key to making them last longer is to rotate multiple pairs of gloves and give them a rest.
Wearing the same gloves every day puts a strain on the leather. It's best to rotate between two or three different pairs of gloves and give them a rest occasionally. Changing your gloves to match your outfit each day is also a good idea.
▷ Storage methods for the next season
If you store gloves in the same condition they were in after use, mold and stains can develop on the leather, and the cashmere lining can be damaged by insects. Clean them by brushing them to remove any dirt, and then store them using a method that is best suited to the materials they are made of. Furthermore, storing them in a paulownia wood box with insect repellent and desiccant will keep them in good condition until the next season.
*If you encounter stains or mold that you cannot remove yourself, consult a cleaning shop with the necessary equipment and skills to properly care for leather.
*Please note that this does not apply to all glove shapes and materials.
