Franco Minucci, a passionate lover of "Italian classics," opened his small menswear shop, "TIE YOUR TIE," in Florence in 1984. The shop, filled with high-quality and distinctive items crafted through his discerning eye, is like his own personal closet, and has become a hidden gem in Florence, captivating gentlemen from all over the world.



The tie brand of the same name was created as an original product of this store, and Minucci aimed to create a tie that could be wrapped as lightly and softly as a scarf, resulting in the brand's iconic seven-fold tie. As you may know, it is an art piece that luxuriously uses 75cm x 75cm of fabric.

This autumn, the same brand will be releasing ties inspired by the fragrance of Santa Maria Novella , known as the world's oldest pharmacy.

Santa Maria Novella boasts a 400-year history based on the philosophy of natural healing and preventive medicine, using natural herbs. Minucci has been a long-time user of the brand's potpourri, and is such a devoted fan that the scent of potpourri always wafts from his personal shirts and ties.


For this project, we have specially revived a product from Tie Your Tie's archive collection, inspired by the scent of Santa Maria Novella 's potpourri, which is made from flowers, plant fruits, and resins that still bloom on the hills of Florence. The limited edition label reads "Tie Your Tie Potpourri," and the color variations are navy, wine, and green, inspired by the colors of Santa Maria Novella 's silk sachets.

While it's not customary for Japanese people to put perfume on their ties, a subtle scent of Santa Maria Novella can be found in all of Tie Your Tie's fabrics, from Minucci's personal ties and Tie Santa Maria Novella Tie's fabrics to the tie swatches (fabric samples) used by buyers when placing orders.

I'm thrilled by this new way of enjoying ties, incorporating fragrances unlike anything I've ever experienced before.
