In the 1850s, John Lobb's talent as a shoemaker blossomed in Australia, a place where people from all over the world gathered in pursuit of dreams of striking it rich. Upon returning to his native England, he earned a Royal Warrant (a mark of appointment to the British Royal Family), and in 1866, he opened his first store in London. He soon established a solid position and reputation.
The story of John Lobb's founding, the king of men's shoes, is fascinating, but 110 years later, it faced another turning point. Its Paris branch was in danger of closing, and it became part of the Hermès Group. This prompted it to seriously begin producing ready-made shoes.
John Lobb shoes are often described as "beautiful," and the elegance they exude within the robustness of British footwear is largely due to their connection with other major fashion houses. This is clearly demonstrated by their iconic lasts (shoe molds).
This spring, the straight-tip "CITY" model is being revived using the classic "8695" last. You can enjoy the classic style with its rounded toe and short nose.
