With a factory in Indonesia, they've achieved cost reductions by being a "third-country production" company in the shoemaking industry. Yet, each pair of shoes is crafted by artisans who trained in Northampton, England, and studied leather production in France, resulting in a truly authentic look and feel. Just hearing that they use the time-consuming and labor-intensive "hand-sewn welted construction" method and employ high-quality leather from top European tanneries like Annonay and Dupuy, it's immediately clear that these are extravagant specifications for leather shoes that can be bought for around 30,000 yen.

Shoes: 30,240 yen

This spring, ISETAN MEN'S gathered customer requests and pushed hard to the brand's headquarters in Indonesia, resulting in the creation of a custom-made last exclusively for ISETAN MEN'S. This is unusual for JALAN SRIWIJAYA, which normally does not accept small-lot production or last specification changes due to its emphasis on productivity.

The base last used was the "11120," which is overwhelmingly popular within the brand. It is a well-balanced and beautiful last, but some customers had commented that "the toe area is narrow and cramped." (If you try to alleviate this by going up a size, the instep will lift, causing pain at the base of the big toe and leading to large creases.)

Therefore, with this custom-made last, the widest part of the toe area was widened by about half a size, and the instep was set lower, resulting in a subtle modification to suit the foot shape of Japanese people. After repeated try-ons and fine-tuning, the confident creation "11120I" was born.

The lineup for this collection includes five styles: straight-tip shoes with both leather and rubber soles, and quarter brogues, derby plains, and double monk straps with sturdy Dainite soles. All styles are refined and sophisticated, perfect for business attire, and are offered exclusively in black.
