We've been experiencing unusually dry weather lately; I hope everyone is staying healthy. Please take extra care, as influenza and norovirus are currently spreading.


Amidst all this, Shimaji-san came in this week looking very energetic, accompanied by Matsumoto-san, the bartender from "abientot!" in Ichinoseki. Since Shimaji-san's partner Hiroe was on leave, he rushed over from Ichinoseki. Thank you as always!


Additionally, Salon de Shimaji Select Shop held a pattern order event for HAKT. (*This event has now ended.)
Glass trays made with traditional textiles are very rare and are one of Ms. Shimaji's favorite items, as she has a keen eye for beautiful things.


It was a relaxed weekend, but the Salon de Shimaji original bottle of "Hakushu" has been disappearing rapidly, and we're already on our 25th bottle.


Shimaji : "There's nothing more gratifying than having foreign customers go out of their way to come to my bar just to drink Hakushu. This is truly a whisky that the world is paying attention to. Please enjoy it to your heart's content with Matsumoto's shake, a taste you rarely get to experience."

For those who missed out on trying Matsumoto-san's shaken whiskey, he's scheduled to visit again on February 2nd (Sat) and 3rd (Sun), so look forward to it!

Katsuhiko Shimaji is the producer of the Isetan Men's Residence Salon de Shimaji, located on the 8th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Born in 1941, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and joined Shueisha. He was assigned to "Weekly Playboy" and became its editor-in-chief in 1983, where he created a sensation with the "Life Advice" column featuring Renzo Shibata, Toko Kon, and Ken Kaiko as respondents, growing the magazine into a million-copy publication. He later served as editor-in-chief of "PLAYBOY Japan" and "BART." After serving as the representative director of Shueisha International, he retired in 2008. He is currently a writer and essayist.
