From Wednesday, December 12th to Tuesday, December 25th, a pattern order fair is being held in the men's shoes section on the first basement floor of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Authentic Italian shoes, with handmade finishes and hand-painted leather, can be ordered from 56,000 yen (excluding tax), and the short delivery time of approximately 5 weeks is also attractive.

Pattern-made dress shoes are a first in Japan.

Making its debut at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , DIS is the first dress shoe pattern order service in Japan. Its greatest appeal is the system that allows customers to order while viewing an image of the finished product on a tablet, overcoming the previous barriers of "ordering shoes is difficult" and "it's hard to imagine the finished product" with the power of IT.

The ordering process is simple: choose your favorite design from approximately 25 design samples, which will then be displayed on a tablet. While viewing actual leather and sole samples, you can select the colors and materials of each part on the tablet, following the stylist's advice. Once the design is decided, try on a fitting sample to determine the size, and you're done. Ordering can be completed in about 30-40 minutes.


The design samples include a wide variety of styles such as oxfords, lace-ups, and slip-ons. There are over 80 types of leather samples to choose from, and while the range of sole samples varies depending on the upper design, you can choose from a total of six types of leather and rubber soles.

Furthermore, fitting samples are available in sizes from 39 (approximately 25 cm) to 44 (approximately 28.5 cm) in half-size increments. Two types of lasts (shoe molds) are available: the orthodox round-toe "312" and the distinctive chisel-toe "Exclusive". Engraving (for an additional fee) is also available, with up to 3 characters engraved on the heel, or up to 20 characters engraved on the sole or insole.

DIS shoes are characterized by their lightweight and flexible construction, achieved through the handmade Goodyear welt method. The opportunity to order a "one-of-a-kind pair of shoes" while referencing the world-renowned shoes available on the same floor is also a major draw.

DIS services are expanding worldwide.

DIS was founded in 2015 by Andrea Carpineti, a business plan and strategy expert; Michele Luco ni, a digital strategy and startup expert; and Francesco Carpineti, a specialist in Italian-made shoes and active in the field of high-end men's footwear.

We have developed an innovative system that allows customers to choose their favorite shoes from a selection of stylish Italian shoe models and customize every part using a 3D configurator, selecting materials and colors. Currently, this service is available in 25 countries worldwide, including Italy, Spain, Russia, the Czech Republic, China, and South Korea.

The brand first appeared in Japan in 2016 at the "Italian Innovation Day" hosted by the Italian Embassy. While they started offering custom-made sneakers in 2017, this Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building marks their first custom-made dress shoe service in Japan.

With the renovation in September of this year, a new order salon with a permanent pattern order service was established on the same floor, creating an environment where customers can enjoy ordering while comparing designs across different brands.
