As a manufacture that handles everything from movement production to design in-house, German brand Nomos Glashütte is gaining prominence. Its high-quality designs have earned it numerous design awards.
This time, we'll introduce the 2018 new model "Tangente Update," which won the Challenge Award at the GPHG (Grand Prix de Geneva), considered one of the most prestigious awards in the watch industry.

Uwe Arendt, CEO, giving a presentation at the GPHG Awards ceremony.
The GPHG Foundation was established with the aim of promoting the values of the Swiss watch industry globally, and it awards prizes in 12 categories every year. Currently, it covers not only Switzerland but also the entire watch industry, including Germany and Japan, and many famous manufacturers have entered the competition.
The Challenge Award, which the brand received this time, was newly established in 2018 for watches that feature complex mechanisms but are reasonably priced. This particular model received the award in recognition of its new reverse-clockable date mechanism and its slim, in-house movement.
A "square design" that can be worn as a pair next time.
