--When you hear the themes "SOUL CAMP" and "HIP HOP," what kind of picture do you imagine drawing?
"I had the opportunity to perform live painting at the first 'SOUL CAMP' held at Toyosu PIT in 2015, and it was a very valuable experience. Hip-hop music samples from jazz and soul, right? Those are the roots of my painting, and I think that hip-hop includes jazz and soul, so I'd like to delve deeper into those aspects."
--Please tell us about your enthusiasm for performing a "live painting" in an unusual environment like Isetan Shinjuku.
"I think it will be an honor to have my work seen by a wider range of people than the usual customers who come to my studio. I want to create paintings that will really resonate with those people as well."
--What aspects of your work would you like customers to see?
"People often say that the sense of speed and the process of creation are interesting, so I hope they'll pay attention to that."
I hope people can see how the final form emerges and feel the power of the finished painting."
