--When you hear the themes "SOUL CAMP" and "HIP HOP," what kind of picture do you imagine drawing?
"I want to create pop and exciting pictures, as I always do. Also, even though they are still images, I hope to create works that convey the movement and emotions of the characters within the picture. I think this will be the largest canvas I've ever worked on, so I'm looking forward to that aspect as well."
--Please tell us about your enthusiasm for performing a "live painting" in an unusual environment like Isetan Shinjuku.
"Isetan Shinjuku has always been the first department store that comes to mind when I think of Tokyo department stores since I moved here, and I feel like they have a consistent, unwavering core. It's an honor to be able to do live painting there, and I'm very nervous right now. I want to create a piece that doesn't diminish the prestige of Isetan."

--What aspects of your work would you like customers to see?
"What would make me happiest is if people saw my paintings or the process of me painting and thought, 'Maybe I should try painting too.' I hope that the joy of painting comes across to them."
