--When you hear the themes "SOUL CAMP" and "HIP HOP," what kind of picture do you imagine drawing?

"I think a lot of people in Japanese hip-hop place a lot of emphasis on doing things in Japanese. So, I also want to sample Japanese motifs, like those found in Japanese paintings, and mix them with street culture. Basically, it's the same as what I usually do (laughs)."

--Please tell us about your enthusiasm for performing a "live painting" in an unusual environment like Isetan Shinjuku.

"Even my relatives were like, 'What? You're doing it at Isetan?' (laughs). It's amazing to be able to perform in such a well-known place, so I want to work even harder than usual."

--What aspects of your work would you like customers to see?

"I take pride in creating works that are unique and unlike anything that has been done before, so I would be happy if this opportunity allows people in Japan to learn about the appeal of Japanese-style paintings."
