Bagera's bespoke service involves conversations with customers about things that leather craftsmen often don't need to ask, such as "When will you use it? What kind of work will you do with it? What will you put in it? What kind of fashion will it match?"

Behind Bagella's craftsmanship, and always with the customer in mind, is the unspoken vision of the two founders.

Imagining the lives of our customers sparks further creativity and leads to the design of new containers. I was once again convinced that the numerous prototypes in the workshop were a genuine expression of this attitude.

In late October, Naoko's ready-made "small yellow wallet" will be on display at a trunk show held at ISETAN MEN'S . It was created in response to an order from ISETAN MEN'S as the "next-generation standard wallet" in response to the diversification of payment methods such as credit cards, IC cards, and smartphone payments.

However, they are by no means creating products that appeal to the lowest common denominator, nor are they aiming to create products that are "easy for everyone to use."

"There are many smart wallets out there, but I wanted to think a step further. If I had to choose a color, it would be yellow, and the image I have in mind is a cool old man going to Isetan with just this wallet. Imagine some bills sticking out of a small yellow wallet, and it has a kind of effortless aesthetic..." (Naoko)


"Isn't it more interesting to see quirky handwriting spilling out of the manuscript paper than neatly arranged letters? (laughs)" (Naoko)

My encounter with Bagella even stirred my intellectual curiosity.
