Choose your bowl, choose your syrup, shaved ice is all about ○○○!

Okada: This time, the syrup and toppings are selected for an "adult-style shaved ice." Fukuda: Please use your favorite bowl.
At Fukuda , they use Kou Shoten's "raw sugar syrup" and top it with Kobayashi Shido Shinjuku's "chestnut kanoko." Hmm, the ice itself is definitely different. When I use my home shaved ice machine, it's crunchy, but this has a really nice "shaved" feel to it. The raw sugar syrup has a gentle sweetness, is crisp, and seems like a syrup that's good for you.

Tashiro: Back in the day, I used to eat shaved ice at festivals, and the red syrup would turn my tongue bright red, and then if I had blue Hawaii, it would turn purple (laughs). Those kinds of cheap flavors are one of my memories, you know.
Okada: Kids these days have discerning palates, you know. So, Tashiro, please go ahead.


In Tashiro , I'll have the mango. This Captain Syrup has a mild flavor. It's delicious.
At Okada , I get the Saison Factory's "Fruit Sauce Strawberry" and the Wine Bee Garden Shikuwasa double. The flavor is rich at first, but I love eating the crunchy texture at the end as the ice melts.

Even with something as simple as Fukuda shaved ice, there are so many different preferences! (laughs)
Tashiro, you can really see the evolution of shaved ice machines and ice-making technology. To think we can eat shaved ice of this quality at home! Mr. Fukuda, what exactly is "shaved ice"?
Fukuda: "Shaved ice is like curry." (Both professional and homemade versions are delicious.)
Tashiro shaved ice is a "summer canvas."
Okada: "Shaved ice is all about freedom." Just like white rice, it tastes good no matter what you put on it!
