What is "Yudo," a new Japanese cultural practice...?

Hello everyone! The season when cherry blossoms begin to sprout is fast approaching.
The unstable weather makes me look forward to spring all the more!

THE GALLERY by CHALIE VICE will be featuring "Yudo" (the way of hot springs) from Wednesday, March 28th to Tuesday, April 17th.

"Yudo" refers to a new Japanese culture advocated by Kundo Koyama, a close friend of CHALIE. Bathing is one of the indispensable customs for Japanese people. Bathing has various powers.

Beyond simply keeping the body clean, bathing soothes and warms the body after accumulating fatigue. CHALIE, having learned about the luxurious spirit and etiquette of bathing from Mr. Koyama, has been pursuing the "way of bathing" ever since.

We have received a letter from CHALIE, who continues to pursue the "way of the hot springs," and we would like to share it with you!

Hey everyone, it's been a while.
My gallery is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. This is all thanks to my friends who share my passion and enjoy exploring my world.

So, for the first time in a while, I'd like to share with everyone the world of "Yudo" (the way of the hot springs), which my friend of 30 years, Kundo Koyama, is currently exploring.
Both he and I love baths.
We often soaked in hot springs and public baths, talking about all sorts of things.

About 20 years ago, I suddenly decided to go stargazing in the middle of the night, so I sped off in my car from Tokyo to the mountains of Hakone and spent the night in the car.
The next morning, after visiting a small bathhouse called Taiko-yu in Miyanoshita, the two of us had French toast for breakfast and then headed back to work along the same road we had taken the night before. It's still a fond memory.

This time, I'm hoping to get him, despite his busy schedule, to come to the gallery and talk in detail about the world of "Yudo" (the way of the hot springs).
We want you to experience the ultimate way to enjoy Japanese culture, a way that is uniquely Japanese, along with the skills of artisans.
