Mr. Adachi wore a yukata with a pattern of "Mandarin Ducks and Nightingales (gray)," a woodblock print by Ito Jakuchu, a genius painter of the mid-Edo period, layered with a haori jacket. He explained his outfit for the day, saying, "Today I'm wearing the yukata in a kimono style. I'm wearing the yukata like I would a denim and T-shirt. I'm expressing a sense of formality, like wearing a jacket and tie, through the collar of the haori and the juban (undergarment)."
The basic outfit consists of four items: a yukata, obi (sash), waist cord, and geta (wooden clogs). However, it's a lot of fun to customize it with your own fashion accessories to create your own unique style. This style is perfect not only for classic summer events like fireworks displays and summer parties, but also for weekend dates and theater outings.

Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 8th floor = Isetan Men's Residence, Aoto, who is in charge of this project, is modeling a "beach yukata" (leisure yukata) set, which consists of a yukata made of polyester material that can withstand getting wet and a matching obi (sash). It has buttons to prevent it from coming undone even when you move around, and it's also appealing because it can be machine washed at home if you sweat in it.
"I used to think of yukata as something you wear on special occasions, but with 'leisure yukata,' the fun expands to how much you can incorporate new things without compromising your own style," says Aoto. "I want to propose how men can enjoy kimono to the fullest as a form of fashion," he adds, expressing his hopes.
