Founded in London in 1764 by John Arnold, Arnold & Son developed the highly accurate "spring détente marine chronometer," which supported the prosperity of the British Empire that dominated the seas in the 18th century. John Arnold is said to have been hailed as a genius watchmaker alongside Breguet of France.

When the brand was revived in 1995, based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, it restarted as a manufacture brand by becoming an in-house brand of movement maker La Joux-Perret. With a focus on creating watches that maximize the beauty of each model, under the principle of "one model, one movement," their meticulous attention to detail is evident in the fact that different case materials result in different movement finishes.


Furthermore, Arnold & Son's collections are divided into two categories based on the brand's history.
Having earned the recognition of King George III of Great Britain, Arnold created the "Royal Collection," incorporating British style elegance and sophistication for the King and other members of the British Royal Family.
Furthermore, Arnold and his son Roger successfully developed a marine chronometer for determining precise positions at sea. They later supplied marine chronometers to the British Royal Navy. The "Instrument Collection" was inspired by this marine chronometer.
