A collaboration with Blue Blue brings you the true essence of "American Traditional" style!
The "J.PRESS BLUE BLUE 1967 COLLECTION" is based on a valuable 1967 J.PRESS brochure (catalog) and vintage items from Seirin Co., Ltd., with details reconstructed from these materials. The collection features updated sizing and comfort for modern times.
Originating with the British Navy and adopted as the uniform material for numerous prestigious American schools, including the Ivy League, J. Press blazers use a wool-polyester uniform cloth commissioned from the long-established British company Arthur Harrison. It offers excellent breathability, high wrinkle recovery, and is characterized by its unique sense of luxury and dignified, uniform-like appearance.
The blazer lining features Blue Blue's original 1967 monogram chambray fabric, and the buttons are Eagle buttons from Waterbury, an American company. The collection also includes the classic three-button roll-over blazer, vests, and trousers with a back cinch.
The coat's fabric is modeled after durable poplin material produced in the mid-1970s, reproducing the same specifications at the same weaving factory, while achieving even greater quality and lightness through the use of high-quality Supima cotton and Toyobo's hollow polyester yarn "Air Max".
Using a high-density, exceptionally durable fabric that conforms to the body with each wear, creating an irresistible feel, this coat has been made about 10cm shorter in length than a typical balmacaan coat, giving it a lighter, more agile impression while retaining the utility of a coat.
Furthermore, the seersucker/cordlane fabric, perfect for the coming season, faithfully reproduces the blend ratio, weave, and stripe pitch width of the classic Dacron cotton (functional polyester) developed by DuPont (now Invista) in the 1950s. The collection includes a boxy silhouette three-button jacket, vest, and trousers with a back cinch, all modeled after vintage pieces, completing the wardrobe of an Ivy Leaguer from that era.
Furthermore, the lineup includes J. Press's iconic "Irvin BD (button-down)" shirt, shirts made with premium pleats, a staple material for dress shirts, ties with a three-fold stitched tip reminiscent of American ties from the 1950s and 60s, evoking the mood of good old America, as well as crest ties and pocket squares featuring the collaboration logo.
In addition to the "J.PRESS BLUE BLUE 1967 COLLECTION," J.PRESS is also hosting a "Pattern Order Event" where customers can choose from limited imported fabrics, and a "Dress Shirt Order Event" where customers can order shirts with neck sizes ranging from 36cm to 50cm. The shirts will be available in a whopping 31 colors.
