I want a pair of "501XX (1955 model)"!

Levi's® catalogs would say things like, "The 501XX (1955 model) is the ultimate vintage jeans," and I would read them with excitement. Back then, when I bought jeans, I would take them home without hemming them, soak them in hot water to remove the starch, dry them in a coin laundry dryer, and then wear them without washing them (laughs). It was really fun, and denim is my absolute basic and irreplaceable.

Levi's® Vintage Clothing Denim Pants "501XX (1955 Model)" ¥32,400

What I want this year is a pair of Levi's® "501XX (1955 model)" in rigid (unwashed) denim. The material is 12oz red selvedge denim from Cone Mills, and it has a button fly. It faithfully reproduces the original model with hidden rivets, double-sided red tabs, and the early type paper patch.

When I pick up this pair, it makes me want to wear something that's rooted in my own style, and it rekindles my passion for fashion. This season, I imagine rolling up the hems a bit, pairing it with relaxed sneakers, an Italian knit sweater, and a balmacaan wool coat. Levi's® denim is amazing because it fits well with both American and Italian styles, but I believe that "fashion is about mixing," so I want to wear it in a way that suits my current mood.

NEXT> Another thing I want is a cashmere knit cap.
