A man's world expressed through Venetian leather and patina.
Berluti was founded in Paris in 1895 by Alessandro Berluti. Initially, it mainly dealt in bespoke shoes, but in 1959 it started producing high-end ready-to-wear shoes. The fourth-generation owner, Olga Berluti, developed "Venetian leather," which would later become Berluti 's most distinctive feature. She also devised a unique dyeing technique called patina (the patina and changes that occur with age). She incorporated a variety of colors that had never been used in the world of men's shoes before, and deliberately demonstrated creativity by "enjoying the patina." Since then, in addition to shoes, they have also released bags and leather goods, and are loved by many celebrities. In 2016, they appointed Haider Ackermann, a Colombian-born designer and graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, as creative director. Having traveled the world with his parents since childhood, his style is described as a mix of urban and nomadic cultures.
