Men's designer catalog 'EPOCH', December 1, 2017 issue, published.

EPOCH is a men's designer catalog that brings you the latest trends from luxury brands at Isetan Men's.
In this issue, published on December 1st (Friday), we will be giving you an early look at the latest fashion trends for the Spring/Summer 2018 season from luxury brands on the 3rd and 4th floors of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , as well as information on limited-time pop-up shops.



One of the things to look forward to with 'EPOCH' is the collaborations with top global brands active in various fields, including sake, traditional Japanese sweets, and guitars.
In this issue, we focus on Japanese wine, which is currently gaining recognition worldwide. We introduce the various facets of Japanese wine through men dressed in the latest fashion, highlighting the sincere attitude of the people involved in winemaking, and the delicate and elegant character of wines that change depending on the climate and terroir.



FINESSE

The superior natural environment of the production region, the grapes grown there, the ultimately simple winemaking method, and the winemaker's skill that has reached the level of art. Complex processes are not necessary for winemaking.
The fusion of all these elements determines the character. In Kofu, a city that has made remarkable progress in just over a decade, we sought the true essence of winemaking and compared it to the principles of fashion. What is true elegance? Wine teaches us that.



TERROIR

Grapes are very capricious fruits. Topography, soil, water supply, humidity, and exposure to sunlight and wind all play a role.
And the quality can vary greatly depending on the slight difference in the dedication of the people who believe in its potential and nurture it.
With all the elements in its favor, the grapes have blossomed, and their flavor is so rich it stirs the soul.
A fine wine can be described as the culmination of its inherent qualities.



DOMAINE

A château (≒castle) refers to someone who owns a vast vineyard of unparalleled splendor. In contrast, a domaine is not concerned with appearances or ostentation. They cherish each and every grape on the vine and meticulously care for it until it is ready to be made into wine.
It's a gentlemanly attitude, showering immense love on those close to you and your family.



ASSEMBLAGE

Wines produced through a stable process following traditional methods meticulously depict the essence of the grapes, much like a classical painting. When grapes from different environments are blended and harmonized, the wine awakens even further.
It's a thrilling expression, like innovative modern art.



VIEILLE VIGNES

Tradition, quite literally, signifies that something has progressed along a certain path and been passed down through generations. Grapes live on with the vine, their appearance changing with each passing year. The deep roots embedded in the earth, the trunk and branches that grow from them—these are the strongest evidence of tradition.
The reason Kofu wines are currently highly regarded is because of the foundation laid by vineyards that have been in operation since the Meiji era.



AROMA

Uncorking a bottle of pure wine and pouring it into a glass, the mystical aroma first tickles the nostrils, and soon the experience transforms into immense joy. The common ground between wine and fashion.
It's about expanding and enhancing the inherent potential of the grapes themselves, and the natural beauty of the person wearing them.
Heavy makeup is not necessary.
