Three must-have outerwear pieces for this season
Combining voluminous boa material and oversized coats made from tweed creates a unique and distinctive look that mixes big and tight silhouettes, making it a stylish choice for this year.
Rainmaker Coat: ¥85,320
From Kyoto-based brand Rainmaker comes an officer coat made from a bonded material of boa and melton. Taking advantage of the properties of the bonded material, this model makes extensive use of raw edges and deep side slits to make it easy to put your hands into your trouser pockets. Reinforcement tape is applied to the inside of the pocket openings, which are subject to stress, resulting in a functional yet minimalist finish.
Furthermore, the material is a double-woven melton with a pile finish, bonded with dreadlock-like boa. The boa portion is lightly felted through a knitting process so that the fibers are longer than usual, causing the wool to intertwine and create a dreadlock-like appearance.
Markaware coat: 56,160 yen
Markaware, which has continued to offer many oversized pieces since spring/summer, has shifted its collection from one with strong military elements to a slightly cleaner, more minimalist, and natural style this season.
This collarless boa coat, with its relaxed drop-shoulder design, effortlessly pulls together any style. It can be worn casually over knitwear like a cardigan, yet functions perfectly as a substantial outer layer, possessing a luxurious, mature look.
Graphpaper
Coat: 102,600 yen
Graphpaper 's coat, made with tweed using Shetland wool, is left unfinished and in its raw state, resulting in a material that highlights the roughness and strength inherent in the wool.
By transforming classic, somewhat rustic materials into relaxed, loosely fitting silhouettes, the brand proposes modern and sophisticated everyday wear. Attention to detail is also a key feature, such as the contrast with the inner lining and the custom-made buttons by Lue, a brass craftsmanship company in Okayama Prefecture.
