What is JENOMENS, the group formed by four people who have a deep love for soft vinyl toys?

Autumn and winter items are arriving one after another at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , making it a fun season for dressing up. Meanwhile, CHALIE VICE has discovered a gadget made with the latest technology and has set off to visit a friend to learn about its unique concept and structure. She left a note in the office that read, "The rapidly changing world of IoT is full of exciting, interesting, and new possibilities!" She set off on a trip while we Angels were away...!? I'm always impressed by CHALIE VICE's initiative.


CHALIE VICE, who never forgets that exciting feeling of childhood, is introducing the "sofubi (soft vinyl toy)" project JENOMENS. And what's more, THE GALLERY CHALIE VICE is the very first place where these sofubi figures will be unveiled!


"Sofubi" refers to three-dimensional figures made from soft vinyl, a toy that was extremely popular during the Showa era. Sofubi, which was a coveted toy for children in the Showa era, is now gaining enthusiastic support, mainly from adults, within the modern subculture category. Geno Mens is a group formed by four people who are active in the capsule toy and fashion scenes and who have a deep love for sofubi.

Their passion for soft vinyl figures is "elevating toys to art." True to that philosophy, their creations are exquisitely crafted and meticulously made, setting them apart from ordinary toys.
This time, there will be no in-store sales; it will be an exhibition only. Sales will begin on September 2nd (Saturday) at 10:00 AM exclusively at the Isetan online store.

The toys you couldn't have as a child can sometimes become your heroes even as an adult. Though, sometimes you might talk about them so passionately to the woman you like that she gets bored...
The people who gathered this time have launched a new project called Genomens, driven by their childhood memories, their desire to pass on Japanese craftsmanship, and their hope that Japanese subculture, which is attracting attention from all over the world, will be recognized more as art.
What you see in museums and galleries isn't always art. I want people to experience new genres of art. I expect that seeing them up close will fill everyone with a sense of excitement.
