A reflexology experience report! We infiltrated the "healing spot" on the 8th floor of the men's department store, perfect for couples to enjoy.(1/3)

"About 80% of our customers fall asleep during the treatment," says Egami, manager of ISETAN MEN'S Reflexology, located on the 8th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Egami, with 10 years of experience, explains the relaxing experience: "Even in everyday life, we are affected by external factors, and especially during seasonal changes, many people want to relax. Some of our regular customers incorporate reflexology into their daily lives as a regular part of their routine." ( Click here for a list of reflexology menus )

A healing time through your feet

I made a reservation according to my schedule, and on my first visit, I filled out a "customer card" with information about my current condition before heading to the relaxation space. This time, I received a treatment that combined "Regular Reflexology (30 minutes)," a foot reflexology treatment from the soles of my feet to my calves, and "Head Reflexology," a treatment for my neck, shoulders, and scalp.

Manager Egami explains, "While massage stimulates the muscles themselves, such as the shoulders and lower back, reflexology is based on the idea that the extremities of the body, such as the feet, hands, and face, are especially important. It is a relaxation method that uses the hands and fingers to reflect the stimulation of the soles of the feet back to various parts of the body."

Apparently, some people look nervous when receiving treatment for the first time, but Ms. Egami says that those who receive treatment regularly "feel refreshed and relaxed, both in their feet and their minds." When asked about the frequency of treatment, she recommends continuing once every 7 to 10 days, but many people incorporate reflexology into their daily lives at their own pace.
