Combine 3 designs, 4 materials, and 2 sole materials to create your own unique pair of shoes.

Asakusa Shoe Order's first-ever pattern order event will feature three designs from the brand's best-selling line: straight tip, semi-brogue, and double monk strap. Customers can choose from four types of materials, including Ilcea leather from Italy (1 color), Annonay leather from France (5 colors), Charles F. Stead leather from England (3 colors), and glass leather (4 colors) which is characterized by its water resistance and strong gloss.

The soles are available in leather and Vibram, and come in six sizes ranging from 24.0 to 26.5 cm. According to Miyazaki, the shoe last is "designed for Japanese feet, with a slightly higher instep and a heel that isn't too narrow."

"The four types of materials we've prepared this time are all from world-renowned tanneries. In addition to Ilcea and Annonay, the suede we've prepared is a fine-grained suede called 'Superbuck' from Charles F. Stead," he explained.

He continued, "For the cap toe, which is the 'face of the shoe' and the part of the upper we pay the most attention to, we use the firmest part of the leather, specifically the rump. By using the best part, we can create a shoe that looks good and is perfectly symmetrical."

My recommendation is "Straight tip x Annonay".

The advantage of custom-made shoes is that you can combine your preferences to create a pair that is uniquely yours. "We can provide meticulous service because we have our own factory, and our craftsmen, who have been thoroughly trained in shoemaking know-how, will finish the shoes carefully, so we hope you will be pleased," says Miyazaki.

When asked, "If you were to have a pair of shoes made, Mr. Miyazaki would choose one," he recommended, "Having these three designs would be perfect for business, but if I were to have a pair made for personal use, I would choose a straight-tip style and Annonay leather. Annonay leather has a fine grain, just the right amount of firmness and resilience, and its appeal lies in how it develops character the more you wear it. It gives a crisp, straight-tip finish."

Asakusa shoemaking, crafted with pride in being "Made in Japan," is completed entirely in-house at our own factory in Akita. We invite you to create your dream pair of shoes using special materials and at a special price, available only for this occasion.
