ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH, which releases unique and beautiful watch series with the participation of world-renowned designers, introduces a new model, "GT," designed by Kiyoyuki Okuyama, who is active in the global industrial design world.
The collection will be released on Friday, June 9th, with all four models (100 units of each model) available. At Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building they will be available on the 6th floor in the Contemporary Casual section.

The concept of the new model is "Grand Touring."

Kiyoyuki Okuyama is widely known internationally for his car designs, including the Ferrari Enzo and Maserati Quattroporte. His design activities range from traditionally renowned Nambu iron kettles from his base in Tohoku to the cutting-edge technology of the Shinkansen bullet train.

The new "GT" model, available in limited quantities worldwide, was created with the concept of "GT = Grand Touring" (a grand journey), inspired by motorsport. The fusion of the dynamic design skills cultivated by Mr. Okuyama in car design and Japan's exquisite watchmaking technology has created a truly authentic "Japan Prestige" timepiece.

A design that exudes a sense of speed, combined with a thorough pursuit of comfort and visibility.

The GT series is characterized by its light and airy dial design and the dynamic grooved lines on the side of the case. The bar indices, which are of varying lengths and positioned from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock, are multifaceted to enhance their shine and visibility, while the design evokes a sense of time passing, creating a high-quality feel.

Furthermore, a specially designed band with varying lengths of parts is used so that when the watch is worn, the watch head tilts towards the user, ensuring that it is always in an easy-to-read position.

The GT series features a case finished with Zaratsu polishing by skilled craftsmen, a Japanese-made mechanical movement, and meticulous attention to detail in its design, which adds depth to its appeal. From the fusion of elegance and stoic car design, the functional elements of speed, distance, and time are embodied in its form.

Kiyoyuki Okuyama

Born in 1959. He has held positions such as Chief Designer at General Motors (USA), Senior Designer at Porsche (Germany), Design Director at Pininfarina (Italy), and Dean of the Industrial Design Department at Art Center College of Design (USA). He has designed numerous vehicles including the Ferrari Enzo and Maserati Quattroporte, motorcycles such as Ducati, trains, ships, robots, and theme parks.
