03.29 Wed -04.11 Tue
Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building 2F International Creators
Oshima Tsumugi is one of Japan's most representative traditional crafts. Its intricate ikat patterns and the beautiful colors obtained from the natural dyeing technique of "mud dyeing" are unparalleled in the world. From March 29th (Wednesday), the International Creators section on the 2nd floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building will focus on collections using Japanese and traditional techniques created by up-and-coming Japanese creators and brands. The exhibition will showcase a new style that elevates Japanese style to a higher level in fashion. The exhibition will run until April 4th (Tuesday).

This event is being held in conjunction with Mitsukoshi Isetan's "JAPAN SENSES," which aims to promote the best of Japan as a new value both domestically and internationally. Responding to the rising trend of Japonisme, a Japanese aesthetic that appreciates traditional Japanese culture, art, and craftsmanship, including Oshima Tsumugi silk, the event proposes a new street style that reinterprets elements of authentic Japanese culture for the modern age.
