They have no basic knowledge of metal engraving. They don't even do preliminary sketches or draw designs.
Takacho started working at the age of 21, and at 22 opened a shop that stocked and sold silver accessories. At the age of 24, he launched LSD, a brand whose name is an acronym for "LEATHER, SILVER, DESIGN," using these materials as its core.
"Initially, I started because I wanted to run a shop, and of course, I took on repair and original design consultations, but then I wanted to start my own brand, so I drew design sketches and commissioned prototype makers. But things didn't turn out the way I wanted, and it took a lot of time, so I decided to do it myself, even though I didn't know anything."

So, the first thing I wanted to try was "Indian jewelry, which only involves carving patterns onto a flat surface. I learned to carve arabesque patterns using a metal carving chisel, and then I wondered what would happen if I carved deeper. When I used a drill bit to carve even deeper, the arabesque pattern gained a three-dimensional effect."
He then laughs, saying, "By the time I learned that jewelry prototypes are usually carved into wax, I was already able to carve directly into metal."
From there, he immersed himself in creating outlandish jewelry, but he recalls, "I started with metal sheets, so I couldn't let go of my two-dimensional thinking, and I struggled to make things three-dimensional (3D)." "For example, when I was carving a skull, my hands couldn't keep up with the 3D image in my head. Creating a sphere in my hand and carving it as if it were rotating was a major challenge until about 10 years ago." When asked how he solved this, he replies, "Anyone can do it if they keep at it."

The influence of the atmosphere I feel while traveling in America and Japan
When asked what influences Takacho's creations, he says, "I often travel alone in the United States and within Japan. Just recently, I drove 8,000 kilometers from Dallas to San Francisco over a week. I create my work while traveling, and I also take photos in ghost towns and ruins. The atmosphere I experience during those trips definitely has an influence on me."
"In my 20s, I was greatly influenced by the jewelry created by my predecessors and LA brands, and I had a strong desire to try making something like that myself. But now that I'm in my 30s, that feeling has faded, and I'm interested in things like, for example, how I could express the 'skillfully amateurish' style of 1970s Mexican silver jewelry."
"As long as my body holds up, I'll keep doing what I love," says Takacho. "I don't like forcing myself to suppress change in the things I create. I don't want to go against the changes that arise within me. I believe it's important to acquire skills that adapt to those changes."

About a year ago, Takacho co-founded "FAKTORY" in LA with his friend, KOMY, a Japanese artist living in LA and the designer of the fashion brand ANOTHER HEAVEN. The goal was to create a place where creators could gather, create, and share their work.
"At this pop-up at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , we will be showcasing new items from LSD's 3rd Style -GET IN THE RING-, as well as artwork and pieces in the style we are creating at FAKTORY." When asked about his impression of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building he said, "They have been carrying our products since the store's inception, and I have a strong impression that it has changed a lot since then, for better or for worse. Since they deal in fashion, it is natural that things change according to trends, and I think it is a good change to respond to customer needs, but I am not aiming for creations that follow trends or are out of sync with the times."

Reasons why men are attracted to silver jewelry
"This might be my own interpretation, but from a fashion perspective, it's about wanting to add the unique allure that metal possesses. Basically, the surface of the human body doesn't have metal, so there's a desire to wear the allure of metal. Also, men, unlike women who can bear children, want to leave a 'trace' (remain) in a different way. Silver, which scratches easily and changes color over time, is suitable as an 'external memory' that allows you to carry your own journey by wearing it."
Finally, Mr. Takacho has a message for you: " Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building has a wide selection of trendy and high-quality items. We hope you will come and see if LSD jewelry, which stands apart from the trends, will appeal to the customers who visit Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building ."
