Urban Jürgensen is a brand of special value to watch enthusiasts. The name of this Danish-born watchmaker has been passed down for generations. Starting November 9th (Wednesday) Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 8th floor = Isetan Men's Residence will begin carrying a rare collection of his watches.


The company's origins trace back to a small workshop started in Copenhagen in 1740 by his father, Järgen. In 1773, Urban, who had received instruction from top watchmakers such as Breguet and Arnold, took over the business, and its reputation quickly spread, leading to his appointment as a watchmaker to the Danish royal family.
His vision from that time is carried on in the current lineup, from the highly technically crafted movements and the case designs possessing classic beauty to the commitment to precision, including marine chronometers.

The "Ref. 1140," released in 2015, is Urban Jürgensen's first model to feature an in-house movement. Its limited production run allowed for meticulous details such as the guilloché dial and the intricately crafted hands, resulting in a simple yet beautiful finish.
