Founded in 1958 in the suburbs of Munich, Erwin Sattler is one of the few manufacturers in the world of mechanical clocks, handling every step of the process in-house, from manufacturing cases and parts to assembly. In recent years, they have also developed products that utilize their woodworking technology, as well as high-performance watch winders, creating next-generation clocks worthy of being called "time interiors."


Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 8th Floor = Isetan Men's Residence will be hosting a workshop in May 2016, where a certified master craftsman will guide participants through the assembly of Erwin Sattler's clock assembly kit, "Mechanica M1." Applications for this workshop will be accepted from Wednesday, March 2nd to Tuesday, March 15th, 2016.

In this workshop, under the guidance of a certified master craftsman, you will spend approximately five hours assembling a traditional mechanical watch with your own hands, learning the fundamental mechanisms of such watches. The joy of putting together each part and finally seeing the watch start moving is a feeling reserved only for watchmakers. This is a unique and valuable opportunity to experience the process of creating a "thing" through traditional handcrafting and the joy of completion.
Furthermore, after the assembled clock undergoes final adjustments by a watchmaker, it will be delivered to your home and installed.
