A sweater born in Kesennuma, a port town with beautiful sea and stars.

Spring is definitely just around the corner!
It seems that Chalie Vice is currently cruising through Italy on her favorite bike, an MV Agusta.
He's going to show us his partner next... I'm looking forward to it!

Currently, THE GALLERY by CHALIE VICE is featuring Kesennuma Knitting for a limited time, from Wednesday, March 25th to Tuesday, April 7th.
Kesennuma knitting refers to fisherman's sweaters that are knitted over many hours by women living in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, a region known for its thriving fishing industry. Many of the women in Kesennuma are skilled at knitting because they repair fishing nets and other equipment.

CHALIE VICE is now accepting orders for Kesennuma knitting.
We will lovingly knit a one-of-a-kind fisherman's sweater just for you, and delivery is scheduled for late August. Just as you begin preparing for autumn, your long-awaited Kesennuma Knitting item will arrive in your hands.

Kesennuma Knitting can make items for both men and women, so we recommend wearing matching outfits.
In addition to the standard colors of off-white, navy, and gray, we also offer a color inspired by the sea of Kesennuma, which changes with the seasons, and a red color that CHALIE specifically requested.

CHALIE learned about Kesennuma Knitting through her encounter with Mizuko Mitarai.

"One day, I received a letter from Tamako, whom I met in Bhutan. Inside the box that came with the letter was a deep blue sweater, and when I unfolded it, I felt the familiar scent of the sea and its warmth..."

Kesennuma knitting is something you don't often get to see. We encourage everyone to experience the warmth of the women of Kesennuma through these fisherman's sweaters, knitted in this beautiful port town with its stunning ocean and stars.

Event Announcement: Talk Session with Mizuko Mitarai, President of Kesennuma Knitting, and Kaori Nakano, Fashion Historian. Before starting Kesennuma Knitting, Ms. Mitarai stayed in Bhutan.
