Q: I don't know how to wear a pocket square appropriately for semi-formal or casual attire.
A. For semi-formal styles, master the "crushed style." For casual styles, master the "puffed style."

Both styles simply involve pinching the center of the pocket square and inserting it, so it's easy once you get the hang of it. For the "crushed style," you can use white or colored pocket squares, but be sure to use a plain one. For the "puffed style," use a white pocket square, a patterned pocket square, or any other pocket square you like depending on the occasion.

"Crushed Style"
Step 1
Spread the chief on the table and pick it up by pinching the middle.
Step 2
Make a loop with your other hand and gently squeeze the pocket square. Be careful not to squeeze it too tightly, as this will result in the pocket square not opening enough to come out of your breast pocket.
Step 3
Fold the pinched end in half to match the depth of your breast pocket.
Step 4
Place the folded-over portion from step 3 downwards and insert it into your breast pocket. Arrange the four corners of the pocket square loosely so they open up like a flower, and you're done.
"Puffed Style"
Step 1
Spread the chief on the table using the same procedure as for the "crushed style," then pinch the center and lift it up.
Step 2
With your other hand, squeeze the corners of the four pocket squares together.
Step 3
Fold the pocket square in half so that the four corners are hidden in the fold you create by pinching it to fit the size of your breast pocket.
Step 4
Insert the bag into your breast pocket with the fold made in step 3 facing downwards. The key is to make it plump so that the fold visible from the pocket looks nice and rounded.

When using a pocket square with a casual style, you can enjoy using one that makes an impact. It's recommended to choose one that matches the pattern of your shirt or the material of your jacket to create a stylish accent around your chest.
