[Look] PRADA unveils its Fall/Winter 2025 men's collection by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons.
On January 19, 2025, at 10 PM Japan time, PRADA presented its Fall/Winter 2025 men's collection in a runway show at PRADA Foundation Deposito in Milan.
An expression of instinct. The Fall/Winter 2025 men's collection by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons explores human nature and basic instincts as fundamental tools of creativity. These are reactions and automatic responses that are acquired naturally without learning, and they may also be primal impulses.
Romance shapes the collection, but perhaps it's better to say that its driving force was the foundation of romance, the heightened emotions, and a passion that transcends reason. We discarded unnatural decisions and respected the honesty of facts and spontaneous choices, because we can discover a new sophistication and unadorned elegance in what is instinctive.
From accidental contrasts, an unexpected and captivating combination was born. Without being constrained by reason, the clothes were instinctively placed on the body. If this were done with a dress, it would result in a snug, enveloping fit. The space, reminiscent of a movie screen, impulsively evokes universal memories.
The spontaneous, natural gestures reflect our raw humanity. The shearling, used both inside and out, creates a sensual layer that envelops the body. The knitwear is adorned with metal symbols that have no particular meaning, almost like protective amulets.
AMO, the venue designer, transformed the Prada Foundation's Deposito with a new kind of contrast. By combining rugged, industrial metal structures with soft carpets designed by Catherine Martin, each element enhances the perception of the other. By deliberately dividing the vast hall into multiple layers, the way light enters the space changes, creating a space reminiscent of a movie scene. This space, which evokes the intimacy of a club, expresses the human instinct to gather in one place.
