REDMAN./Redman
Born in Tokyo in 1936, Masamichi Ishibashi made numerous trips to the United States in the 1950s. There, in Oklahoma, he was given the Indian name "REDMAN" by the Kiowa tribe and officially welcomed into their community. For over half a century since then, he has continued to convey Native American culture through dance performances, paintings, and other forms of expression. In particular, his Indian jewelry, which incorporates their traditions and culture, boasts a wide variety of styles and an overwhelming worldview. At 87 years old, Redman remains active, and his works transcend the realm of accessories, reaching the level of fine art.
