Introducing the favorite items of Wataru Tsuchiya, editor-in-chief of the YouTube channel "GUIDE by ISETAN MITSUKOSHI," which connects people and showcases excellent products and services. Through his interactions with various creators and products, he's drawn to "not just superficial coolness, but essential coolness," and he wants to always remain true to that simple feeling. Here are two of Tsuchiya's favorite items that will be perfect for this winter.
1. A winter scene captured with a film camera
Clockwise from bottom left: Cameras FUJIFILM " FinePix X100 " / RICOH "GR IIIx" / SONY "α6600" / FUJIFILM "NATURA CLASSICA"

"I really love cameras. The first camera I ever bought, which I splurged on right before going to study abroad in New York during my student days, was a FUJIFILM FinePix X100 ."
After returning to Japan, I drifted away from photography and until recently relied almost entirely on smartphone photos, but my passion for photography has been rekindled since turning 30. I choose my camera according to the purpose: RICOH GR IIIx for snapshots, SONY α6600 for videos, and FinePix X100 when traveling. As for film cameras, I've recently been using the natura classica, and my favorite film is the cinestill series. I like taking photos in winter because it seems to capture the very atmosphere, giving them a unique character.
I also feature film cameras in the "What's in My Bag" section of my YouTube channel, GUIDE by isetanmitsukoshi.

2. Sweatshirts are a must-have when traveling.
Daiwa Pier 39 Sweatshirt: 15,400 yen
Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 6th Floor, Men's Contemporary
"I realized I didn't own any sweatshirts, and that's when I found this sweatshirt from DAIWA PIER39. I love the silhouette, and it has the functionality you'd expect from an outdoor brand, making it an item I'll use heavily in various situations. It's incredibly comfortable, and I find it very useful for traveling and relaxing at hotels. The silhouette is relaxed, but the ribbed cuffs are sturdy, and the material gives it an elegant look. Just like the camera I mentioned earlier, I've noticed that all my items are perfect for travel. I'd love to have some pants to go with it too."
Editor Motoki Nakamura's carefully selected favorite items
Motoki Nakamura
Mitsukoshi Isetan Sales Promotion Department, Men's Editorial Staff
I gained experience in sales and product management at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Later, I developed an interest in media and took up my current position in 2023. My interest in fashion began in junior high school, and I've experienced various styles, from streetwear to high fashion. Recently, I've been exploring how to create a minimalist style that suits me.
When buying things, Nakamura says he keeps in mind the famous quote from a designer he admires: "Good things are good, so you should buy the best one." He believes that buying the ultimate in a particular genre will ultimately yield better results than taking a roundabout route, and he keeps his eyes and ears open to find good things every day. Here are some of Nakamura's cherished possessions.
3. A ring full of humor, woven together by fate.
G-Bungee Baccalaureate Ring *Image is of the model's personal item *Not available at Isetan Shinjuku store.
"This ring is from G-Bungee Baka, a jewelry brand run by my friend Nishizawa, whom I met shortly after joining Isetan."
I first met Mr. Nishizawa when he joined the store as a shop staff member for a certain toy manufacturer in the area I was in charge of while I was working at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building on the second floor. This encounter was a turning point for me in learning about the depths of fashion and subculture, and it has had a huge influence on me, who is now deeply involved in the industry. This man, whom I respect so much, later went to Paris alone and launched the brand G-Bungee Baka.
This totem pole-motif ring, embedded with rubies, is an item I purchased shortly after the brand was launched.
Regarding the skull ring, I was interested in toy rings that symbolize vintage motorcycle culture, so when I heard that Mr. Nishizawa was making it, I immediately decided to buy it. It was originally a ready-made product, but I was so impressed by Mr. Nishizawa's passion for this piece that I wanted to make it even more special, so I had the skull's eyes replaced with extremely brilliant emeralds from Zambia. At first glance, it looks like a toy or a Buddhist altar ring, but I really like the contrast between that and the fact that it actually uses high-quality emeralds and silver.
4. The first fragrance brand I ever worked with: Ritu
Top: Ritu Fabric Spray (150mL) ¥2,860
□Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building, 1st Floor, Cosmetics
Bottom: Rito Solid Perfume (6g) 2,200 yen *Currently not available at Isetan Shinjuku store.

"Around 2012, when I was working as a store stylist on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , I was in charge of the fragrance brand Ritu. Among them, the "ALLEN*" product, which has a lily-based fragrance, is still my favorite and I use it all the time."
When the brand first launched, we didn't carry perfumes, so we used fabric sprays on clothes as a substitute for perfume. I loved this scent and received requests from customers, so I often personally asked the buyer at the time to "please make a perfume." That's why I was so eagerly awaiting the release of solid perfume. I also love the packaging design, so I've customized the cap to make it my own original design.
Lately, I've been using fabric spray to scent my clothes and my sofa and bed at home, and I apply solid perfume to my skin so I can always smell nice. It's the first fragrance I ever worked with, so I have a special attachment to it and I want to continue using it for a long time to come.
