From Wednesday, September 13th to Tuesday, September 19th, a promotion showcasing CANTATE's 2023 Autumn/Winter collection will be held at the Tailored Clothing section on the 5th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building .

Established in 2015, cantate is a high-fashion brand that utilizes the skilled craftsmanship of Japanese artisans and carefully selected materials to preserve and archive rare techniques that are in danger of disappearing. Working directly with some of Japan's leading textile manufacturers and factories, they continue to create standard Made-in-Japan clothing. During this period, they will be showcasing a wide range of new items from the 2023 Autumn/Winter season.

This is a rare opportunity to see a variety of items that reflect the meticulous attention to detail of designer Shin Matsushima, so why not visit the store and take a look?

Here's a glimpse of our Fall/Winter 2023 collection.

This British-style double rider jacket is crafted from calf leather by Annonay. The lining is made of back satin gabardine, and the sleeve lining is cotton silk, demonstrating attention to detail even in unseen areas. The front zipper is by CLIX. The ball chain, snap buttons, and the sheen of the leather combine to create a very refined look. This high-quality leather jacket will develop wrinkles and mold to your body with wear, becoming more and more comfortable over time.

This Harrington jacket is crafted from high-density nylon and features a double-layered construction. It boasts a voluminous silhouette with gathered sleeves, and while simple in design, the wool knit ribbing at the cuffs is carefully chosen for its contrasting color, and the familiar buffalo horn buttons add a touch of elegance. The oil-repellent nylon construction makes it suitable for a wide range of occasions.

This band-collar shirt is now in its second season since its renewal. As before, it uses Giza cotton, resulting in a smooth feel, and the slight brushed texture adds depth to its appearance. The texture of the body and the light colors complement each other very well, and the stitching on the collar and cuffs, which are made from a floating interlining, makes this a shirt that you can feel is of high quality at a glance.

This turtleneck cut-and-sew top is made from Giza cotton. Using a special spinning method called Sirospun, the cotton has no fuzz on the surface and boasts a lustrous sheen unlike typical cotton. The tightly woven fabric is firm and durable, and the inclusion of fragrant cotton wax gives it a soft, supple feel. The sleeves and hem feature contrasting panels, similar to a sweatshirt, making it a stylish piece that looks great even when worn alone.

The tapered denim, a long-standing staple since the brand's inception, has been re-released with minor changes. The thigh area is wider and the silhouette is slightly more relaxed than before, tapering beautifully towards the hem. Furthermore, a center crease has been added, giving it the look of slacks, making it an excellent match for loafers and dress shoes. The material remains unchanged, using San Joaquin cotton from the Sierra Nevada, California, which is woven using a shuttle at a weaving mill in Okayama, Japan, with time and effort put into it. The meticulous stitching and details that will impress even denim enthusiasts are still present this season, including the use of old Union Special sewing machines, the "single line" stitching from the back pocket to the waistband, and the belt loop stitching that is shifted by just 1mm. It also pairs perfectly with dressy styles.

These jeans feature a silhouette that appears almost straight. While they look straight when laid flat, the clever cutting around the knee creates a subtle flare when worn, making them easy to wear even for those who are hesitant about flared jeans. Additionally, a new color, L/INDIGO, is available this season. While the long-standing classic INDIGO fades beautifully, this new color has a stronger blue tint and a hue that cannot be achieved through natural aging, adding vibrancy to your outfit.
