Trousers supervised by a rising tailor who worked at a prestigious British brand are creating a buzz!

After working as a cutter at the prestigious Henry Poole on Savile Row, Fumiya Hirano opened his own shop in London. Even after relocating to Japan in 2021, Hirano, a highly skilled tailor who attracts clients from all over the world, has launched his ready-to-wear trousers brand this season: Fumiya Hirano THE TROUSERS .
With its core style rooted in authentic British craftsmanship, while also taking into consideration the Japanese physique, this brand has become a focal point of attention for many buyers this season.

The manager of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building and a buyer from a popular shop explore the appeal of this highly anticipated item.

To explore the appeal of Fumiya Hirano THE TROUSERS , Matsuoka (pictured left), a fashionista at Isetan Men's who excels at a wide range of styles from designer brands to dress wear, and Kawabe (pictured right), a young buyer at Tomorrowland who is in high demand by various magazines, held a conversation. The two, who are close in age and have been friends for a long time, actually held Fumiya Hirano THE TROUSERS in their hands and talked about the distinctive details and how to wear them.


Ayumi Matsuoka (hereinafter, Matsuoka): I often refer to Ms. Kawabe's outfits on Instagram for inspiration. We've exchanged DMs and had meals together with close friends before, but this is the first time we've had a formal conversation like this.

Keiichiro Kawabe (hereinafter, Kawabe): That's right. Ms. Matsuoka likes a wide range of clothing, from classic to fashionable, and since our styles of dressing are similar, I think we'd get along well.

Matsuoka: I'm glad to hear you say that. Tomorrowland has been carrying Fumiya Hirano's suits and jackets for quite some time now, right? What kind of style of clothing does Fumiya Hirano create?

Kawabe: Given that Mr. Hirano worked as a cutter at Henry Poole, the foundation is British classical music. But there's something about it that resonates with Japanese sensibilities. That was one of the reasons his album covers were so popular, and I think Fumiya Hirano THE TROUSERS he's launched this time, also has that same coexistence of British and Japanese sensibilities.



Matsuoka : I first learned about Mr. Hirano's clothing through Fumiya Hirano THE TROUSERS , and the details are indeed classic and instantly recognizable. At Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building we carry this relatively basic "REGENT" model, but even then, the high waist and double pleats give it a very classic feel.




"REGENT," available at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , features deep pleats and a classic look around the waist with side adjusters instead of belt loops.

Kawabe : This "REGENT" model looks standard and easy to wear, doesn't it? I think it would be easy for people who don't wear classic clothing to incorporate into their wardrobe.


These "REGENT" pants have a moderately wide silhouette that is also classic. Although they are made of wool, the tightly twisted yarn makes them comfortable against the skin and gives them a smooth feel, making them perfect for the coming season.


Matsuoka: I actually tried them on, and they had a very beautiful silhouette. Just by wearing them, I could strongly feel Mr. Hirano's attention to detail and passion for craftsmanship. Which models are available at Tomorrowland?

Kawabe: At Tomorrowland, we also select models with more distinctly British details. These gray slacks in the "SAVILE ROW" model have a distinctive back silhouette. Compared to the "REGENT" model, the back is much higher, giving it an even more classic look.


Matsuoka: These pants have a very classic, British feel to them! The back view is definitely completely different from the "REGENT" model.



"SAVILE ROW," available at Tomorrowland's Shibuya flagship store, features a button-fly front and a sharply raised back silhouette that creates a more classic mood.


A key feature is the dressy construction, where a single piece of fabric is sewn together into a tubular shape without side seams. The beautiful silhouette maintained even with this construction demonstrates the high level of skill of the maker.


Kawabe: Also, the welted side pockets are quite unusual. This welted design makes it easy to coordinate with casual blousons like denim jackets, and I think it allows for a wide range of styling options, not just pairing it with a dress jacket.

Matsuoka: The shoes Kawabe-san is wearing today are like that too, aren't they?

Kawabe: I had these pants made after I ordered a jacket from Mr. Hirano's bespoke salon. At that time, I also wanted them to have welt pockets so that they could be worn with casual outfits as well.


Matsuoka: I thought that because they're classic pants, the range of styling options would be limited, but in reality, they seem like they can be used in a wide variety of styles. Personally, I'd like to pair them with a long casual jacket like a lazy man jacket or a safari jacket.

Kawabe: That's right. Because the rise of the pants is high, I think they go well with long jackets, whether dress jackets or casual jackets. In fact, pants with a high rise can give a modern impression if you tuck in an inner layer like a knit, so it's not difficult to style them in a trendy way.

Matsuoka: Compared to jackets, many people don't pay as much attention to their pants, but I think that pants actually play a big role in determining the style and individuality of an outfit. In that sense, these Fumiya Hirano THE TROUSERS may look difficult to wear at first glance because of their strong classic details, but I think those details actually act as accents, bringing a sense of "elegance" and "sophistication" to the outfit.

Kawabe: They can actually be paired with casual clothes as well as dressy outfits. They're incredibly versatile, and even though they're classic, they look fashionable when you wear them. I think that's why they're attracting so much attention right now.
