"MODULAR IMAGINATION" is a collaboration between Cassina and Virgil Abloh, who has worked as a designer for LOUIS VUITTON and Off-White™.

It can be used individually as a stool, ottoman, or side table, or connected together to form a bench or table, allowing for versatile use with the freedom of imagination, just like playing with building blocks.

Virgil Abloh holds a master's degree in architecture and has showcased his diverse talents in the worlds of music and fashion. In recent years, he has been active as a designer for LOUIS VUITTON and his own brand, Off-White.

The collaboration between Abloh, who is involved in various cultural fields, and Cassina, which is always innovative, was inevitable, and Cassina had been working on this collaboration with Abloh since 2020.

The product was reportedly completed shortly before Mr. Abloh's death.

"MODULAR IMAGINATION" shares values similar to Le Corbusier's "TABOURET" stool and expresses a modern approach to housing in today's diverse society.

Virgil Abloh's fondness for using brand logos is evident in the "Cassina-Abloh" logo featured on each side of the garment, a nod to his graphic design.

MODULAR IMAGINATION

The two sizes of blocks have a hard, industrial appearance, yet they feel soft and slightly resilient to the touch.

The orange cylindrical parts can be inserted between the units to connect them, allowing them to be arranged side-by-side or stacked.

The structure consists of recycled wooden core parts covered with a soft polyurethane upholstery containing bio-derived polyols. A dotted line and scissors mark at the bottom of the main body indicate where to separate the materials for easy collection and recycling at the end of the product's lifecycle.
