New sneakers from the collaboration between Maison Margiela and Reebok, "Classic Leather Memory Of" and "Club C Memory Of," will be available from March 25th (Friday) on the Mitsukoshi Isetan luxury website, ISETAN MITSUKOSHI LUXURY.

The latest sneakers, reflecting the house code established by Maison Margiela 's creative director John Galliano, employ the "Memory of" technique, which deconstructs clothing and accessories to create details that visualize past memories. A distinctive feature of these Reebok sneakers is that the cross-check pattern on the upper, a characteristic detail of Reebok sneakers, is peeled away, exposing the punch holes and felt liner that were originally on the inside.

The new sneakers, constructed with premium leather, EVA soles, and rubber outsoles, come in two styles: "Classic Leather Memory of" and "Club Sea Memory of," each available in white and black.

"Classic Leather Memory of"

The "Classic Leather Memory of" elevates the sneaker's structure into a design element by exposing the felt lining, which is usually hidden. The "Décortiqué" cut, which means peeling or stripping, removes part of the surface, exposing the heel tab, and the heel support part is removed, revealing the notch and heel cap.

"Club C Memory of"

The "Club C Memory of" features leather parts such as the heel tab, cross-check pattern, and eyelet tabs designed to look unfinished. Silver pen marks, representing the shoemaker's work process, are depicted as details, and the internal structure is exposed through a "Decortiqué" cut.
The original webbing is recreated with frayed stitching along the sides, and the Reebok logo on the tongue has been cut out and merged with the Maison Margiela logo. Both brands coexist as a "memory of" of the two brands.
