On Wednesday, March 2nd, as the Spring/Summer 2022 season was about to begin in earnest , "GRAND LARGE," a limited-time boutique focusing on the latest HERMÈS/Hermès men's collection, finally opened on the 1st floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building at The Stage.

Prior to the refreshed reopening of Hermès on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building, the temporary stores "HERMÈS IN MOTION" opened sequentially in various locations throughout Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building and the main building, showcasing Hermès's journey of tradition and innovation through various approaches and generating much buzz. Three months have already passed since its closing. And now, on Wednesday, March 2nd, as the Spring/Summer 2022 season is about to begin in earnest, the long-awaited limited-time boutique for Hermès men, "GRAND LARGE," has opened.

Titled "GRAND LARGE," meaning "Grand Voyage," this event features refreshing and light new spring/summer collections that evoke the image of an elegant and active man enjoying graceful sailing. The content resonates with "voyage," one of the themes for this season, as proclaimed by Véronique Nichanian, the artistic director of Hermès' men's division.


The interior walls and window displays symbolically recreate the "Sail Millimeter" pattern, inspired by the grid patterns of nautical charts and also used in the collection. Furthermore, the store brings together items that embody Hermès' annual theme of "lighter" through its light and sophisticated designs, materials, details, and color schemes, all curated in a way that is characteristic of Isetan Men's, creating a unique world overflowing with positive energy.





The ripstop nylon coat, surprisingly light and supple, features a zigzag stitch called "Voile H," inspired by the movement of a sailing ship as it repeatedly changes direction. The shirt, graphically depicting horses and checkered patterns through perforation, is remarkably light and cool in both appearance and feel. Along with a cut-and-sew top featuring a horse depicted with leather appliqué, these are noteworthy items that subtly and modernly incorporate the heritage of Hermès, a company that originated as a saddlery workshop.

Furthermore, the paper material blouson, the cashmere sweater with a tropical floral pattern created using intarsia knitting, and the leather blouson with bright-colored metal parts are all creations that perfectly blend tradition and innovation, which is unique to Hermès.
