Many people have probably noticed a shift in their perspective on fashion recently. The lines between home and work have become blurred, and the opportunities to wear work clothes may have decreased. What fits in today's world are clothes that "accompany you in your daily life and lift your spirits." This time, we asked four staff members from TOMORROWLAND to suggest outfits that they would like to incorporate into today's lifestyle.

The styling for this shoot was handled by Tomorrowland's PR representatives for women's wear, Maki Kanetake and men's wear, Keiichiro Kawabe. Isetan Shinjuku store staff members Shiori Sagae and Hitoshi Amano beautifully styled the outfits to suit each scene.

What you can feel firsthand is what is expected of Tomorrowland right now

"Journey" and "Seamless." These two words are the keywords that represent Tomorrowland this season. They perfectly reflect the current mood, which is shifting from a life divided into work and leisure to a life without seams. As our lives change, the way we shop changes too. What is Tomorrowland being asked to do now? We asked four staff members to frankly share their thoughts.

Sagae : There's a growing demand for easy-care clothing, so when we're serving customers, we make sure to explain how to care for their clothes at home in detail. Surprisingly, many of Tomorrowland's items can be cared for at home. I feel that our staff's purpose lies in being able to do things that are only possible through face-to-face customer service.

Amano : More and more people are choosing clothes for themselves, and "being comfortable" has become an essential keyword for our customers. Clothes are something that accompanies our customers in their daily lives . That's why I believe it's important to propose clothes that not just brighten up a certain moment, but that become rooted in their lives afterward.

Kanetake : Even though there are fewer places and opportunities to wear clothes these days, the people who still come to Tomorrowland are those who want to enjoy their everyday lives, not necessarily going anywhere in particular. I feel our customers' sense of exploration more than ever before. We want to deliver the excitement of traveling through the act of dressing up.

Kawabe : Tomorrowland has always been passionate about craftsmanship, so I feel it has a strong affinity with today's world, which seeks the essence of things. We have always been confident in our quality, but this season we have added value such as a wide range of colors and comfortable wear. These are items that we can recommend with more confidence than ever before.

Outfit suggestions for different occasions

What's needed isn't clothing designed for a limited purpose like "for this specific occasion," but rather clothing that seamlessly and comfortably fits into all aspects of daily life. So, how can we incorporate such seamless items into our wardrobes? From here, our staff will offer and explain outfit suggestions based on four different scenarios.

Scene 1 | After work.

Meet up after work for a short outing. Choose items that are perfect for both work and leisure, and enjoy yourself in a good mood.




For women, we've selected items in soft tones that are comfortable to wear.

Kanetake : Rather than choosing items that would enhance my work mode, I focused on creating a seamless style that transitions between work and leisure. A blouse with a draped tie is a perfect item for Zoom meetings. The only thing that adds a touch of sophistication is the heeled pumps.

Sagae : Actually, this blouse has a cotton flower pattern, and when we tell our customers about it, they say, "It makes me feel gentle and happy when I wear it!" and it's very well-received.

For men, combining casual items creates a polished look.

Kawabe : The band-collar shirt is a recommended item that combines casualness and sophistication. The double-breasted jacket is easy to wear because it doesn't have a drawstring, and the trousers also have stitching as a key feature. Not only is it comfortable to wear, but it also has a relaxed feel that suits the current mood.

Amano : The demand for outerwear has also shifted from "coats that can be worn casually" to "coats that can be worn to work." This coat, with its wonderful color and texture, is an item that only Tomorrowland, with its commitment to quality, could have created.

Scene 2 | A luxurious dinner to enjoy at home

Enjoying a slightly special dinner at home is a new and modern way to date. Wearing clothes that are both stylish and comfortable will naturally lift your spirits.

Kanetake : This wool, silk, and cashmere knit ensemble is actually five different ways to wear it. You can enjoy a variety of looks depending on how you wear it, so you won't get bored of it, and the poncho style makes it easy to throw on. When you're having a meal across from someone, I recommend bringing a bright color like this near your face, as it will instantly brighten your expression."



Sagae : This knit is a popular staple model every year, but this year, pink and blue are especially popular compared to the basic colors. Wearing bright colors can really lift your spirits, right?

The men's outfit was a moderately elegant look, combining a glossy shirt with a cashmere cardigan and denim slacks.

Kawabe : I especially recommend the pants. They're denim, but they're incredibly stretchy and super comfortable to wear. The shirt is made of cotton cupro, so it has a subtle, not gaudy, sheen. The cardigan's material has been changed to merino wool to bring out the colors of the pattern beautifully, so this is another item that's been carefully crafted.

Amano : These denim slacks are selling very well in stores. Everyone who picks them up is surprised by their stretchiness. They're perfect for relaxing at home, but because they're slacks, they still look smart. You don't even need to change clothes when you go out."

Scene 3 | Relaxing Time at Night

It's time to recharge after a hard day's work. At times like these, choose things that soothe all five senses and relax completely.

A relaxed, grown-up style with a light-toned knit cardigan and knit pants.

Kanetake : This cardigan, made from high-quality lambswool, features shell buttons and is full of meticulous details. The pants have flared hems, creating a beautiful silhouette. It's a seamless outfit that's relaxed yet stylish enough to wear outside.


Sagae : There isn't a woman who dislikes being wrapped in something light, soft, and warm! This cardigan is exactly that kind of thing; just putting it on makes you feel like you're being released from stress. It's a versatile piece that looks cute on both me (167cm tall) and petite women."

The men's outfit was entirely by James Perse, showcasing a sophisticated style that emphasized both materials and appearance.

Kawabe : "The Henley neck cut-and-sew top may look casual at first glance, but it's made of high-gauge cotton cashmere, so it gives off an elegant impression when you wear it. The jogger pants are made of 100% Japanese cotton, so they don't lose their shape easily, and the tapered silhouette gives them a nice, polished look."

Amano : I regularly wear both the cut-and-sew tops and the jogger pants. The cut-and-sew tops are really comfortable, so I wear them all year round, and they don't stretch out at all! When I'm traveling for long periods, I always choose these jogger pants. They're as comfortable as sweatpants, but they give off a neat and tidy impression."

Scene 4 | On my days off, I head to the gym in the morning. I get active and stay healthy!

I want to live a healthy life, both mentally and physically. On my days off, I want to get plenty of exercise to refresh myself. Exercise is essential for a healthy mind and body. I also want to be particular about how I look and feel when I wear my clothes, no matter the situation.

 

Women's outfits are head-to-toe by James Perse, offering an active style that feels completely stress-free.

Kanetake : James Perse uses high-quality materials, making clothes that are comfortable to wear yet look elegant. It's truly a brand perfect for mature women. Choosing a short-length down jacket makes you look healthier, and the use of matte materials with a subdued sheen makes it very stylish.

Sagae : Once you wear it, you'll be captivated by its comfort, and we have a really large number of repeat customers who buy it in different colors. I hope you'll come to the store and experience the wonderful comfort for yourself.

 

For men, the outfits incorporate sportswear, something previously unavailable at Tomorrowland.

Kawabe: This blouson, which at first glance looks like a polyester jersey, is actually made of knit. It's packed with clever details, such as a water-repellent finish and a hood that can be stored in the back of the collar. The sweatshirt, made of Egyptian cotton, feels great against the skin, and the waistband is made of corduroy. It's fun to incorporate playful items like this into sportswear, isn't it?

Amano: All of the sportswear we've been offering since this spring/summer has been well-received, and this blouson in particular has been consistently available in stores. Since all of the items are based on Tomorrowland's signature traditional style, I think it represents a new genre within sportswear.

Reconsidering the meaning of "dressing up"

It's about dressing up not for someone or something, but solely for yourself. While dressing up with a purpose or target in mind is fun, there's also a sense of fulfillment in dressing up in this way to make everyday life more comfortable. This, too, is surely one of the great joys of fashion.

I want to embrace the changes brought about by this new lifestyle in a positive way and continue to fully enjoy dressing up with Tomorrowland.
