Inaba: That's not true at all. Navy is flattering to the complexion, and I confidently recommend it as an item that will definitely become a cornerstone of your wardrobe.

Miyanaga: The clothes I choose on the 2nd and 4th floors are casual wear that I can wear as an extension of work, but I honestly don't know what kind of mood I should be in when I go to the 5th floor where there's a whole row of Italian brands (laughs).

The Inaba section is a floor where many working businessmen come to discover new items, wanting to wear "good clothes that fit the times." It certainly seems like a world far removed from your own, Mr. Miyanaga.

Miyanaga: Because my job involves customer service, I used to be very conscious of how I looked to others, but lately I've been trying to incorporate my own sense of style into my outfits. I want to wear nice clothes, but I still end up wearing black as usual.

When Inaba rekindled her passion for fashion in her 30s, her advice was to be mindful of the time, place, and occasion (TPO) and to be creative with how you present yourself. Today, she's selected two outfits focusing on key items that can serve as a stepping stone to adult style: a style that can be worn both on and off duty, and a neat, casual weekend style that isn't too casual.

I'd like to recommend this to anyone in their 30s who is unsure about what to wear, and I'll be focusing on masterpieces that will elevate your style to that of a mature adult. First up, the navy jacket is a hopsack jacket from the Italian brand Tagliatore.


I've never heard of Miyanaga 's Tagliatore before. And this is my first navy jacket ever!

Inaba says the jacket is made from a material that can be worn all year round, both on and off duty, and the fitted waist gives it a stylish look. A Tagliatore jacket is a must-have masterpiece.

Miyanaga, that's what you'd call a "navy blazer," right? I don't own one.

For example, these slacks from Giabs are made of a stretchy material and have a well-defined crease as part of the design, so even though they're casual pants, they can be dressed up.


Miyanaga : I see. The 5th floor is a collection of elegant and dressy items that look sophisticated on adults. It's a floor I've never really visited before, but it would be fun to take a look. I can't wait to try them on.

Miyanaga: It feels so fresh to wear this. I usually go for tight-fitting styles to create a fashionable look, but I realize now that a silhouette with a little extra room is really important.

Inaba 's sophisticated ensemble of knit and cut-and-sew tops in similar colors is given a touch of comfort with creased casual pants. The relaxed fit of the pants is perfect for today's "adult" look.

Miyanaga: I don't want to wear the trendy oversized clothes, but making a difference with the fit is definitely an option.
