Making its debut in a physical venue! MACCIU's art exhibition "CHOICE at ISETAN" is being held.

From Wednesday, September 2nd, the "ART UP" section on the 2nd floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building will host "CHOICE at ISETAN," an exhibition of works by MACCIU, a creator based in Kyoto and Tokyo.

MACCIU, a graphic designer and artist, began her creative activities around 2007 while still a university student. To offer and rediscover possibilities, she transforms "ways of life" and "thoughts/methods" gained through daily life and communication into artwork.
His activities span a wide range of fields, including domestic and international manufacturers, public facilities, books, television programs, and the music industry. In June of this year, he collaborated with NIKE to release the "AIR ZOOM TYPE" sneakers through "NIKE BY YOU" after a two-year production period.

In July of this year, the 3D art museum "CHOICE BY MACCIU" was held online. By showcasing works and posters created in 2020 in a 3D space, the exhibition presented a completely new way to enjoy "CHOICE," offering many ways to enjoy art, such as the experience of actually purchasing and having a work delivered to your hands, even though it is in a virtual space.

At "CHOICE at ISETAN," the works previously exhibited and sold at "CHOICE BY MACCIU" will be shown in a physical venue for the first time. This will be a special opportunity to purchase posters, screen print art pieces, and other works while viewing them in person (*). We hope you will enjoy MACCIU's works from various perspectives.

PROFILE

MACCIU (CEKAI)
A graphic designer and artist based in Kyoto and Tokyo. Originally from Kyoto Prefecture. Member of the creative association CEKAI.
To offer and rediscover possibilities, I transform "ways of life" and "thoughts/methods" gained through daily life and communication into artworks. I believe that by sharing my artwork and the space surrounding it with people, and by repeatedly engaging in communication (i.e., sharing opportunities and possibilities), the world can change, and I continue to express myself in this way.
Characterized by bold color fields and minimalist, symbolic forms, the artist pursues a sense of comfort and purity with a minimum amount of information through the subtraction and elimination of information in the production process. Their work has spanned a wide range of fields, both domestically and internationally, including manufacturers, public facilities, books, television programs, and the music industry. In team projects with CEKAI, they also collaborate with motion graphic designers.
