Founded in 1892 by Eiichi Shibusawa as Japan's first hat manufacturing company, Tokio hat is a leading Japanese hat brand that laid the foundation for the development of hat culture in Japan. From August 19th (Wednesday) Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 8th floor = Isetan Men's Residence will be holding a limited-time "punching felt" custom order event.

The brand has a history of selling products called "Summer Felt" in the early Showa period, and has been offering hats that can be worn all year round since then. Building on that history and adapting it to modern times, the "Punching Felt" series was launched in the Autumn/Winter 2019 season. Beaver felt, known for its durability, lightness, and smooth texture, is given fine punching to improve breathability, and the hats that can be folded are made to take advantage of the material's characteristic firmness and resilience, making them suitable for all seasons.
Furthermore, we have established a new custom order system for our "punching felt" series, and will be holding order events where customers can customize their products to their liking from tens of thousands of possible patterns.

At this custom order event, we will be using beaver felt as the material and offering three types of shapes and sizes (55-62cm in 1cm increments) – "Japanese-style fedora," "European-style fedora," and "European-style round top." You can also choose from six different positions for the punching, and customize the ribbon design (3 types), color (30 colors), and width (1.5cm, 3cm, 4cm) to create your own unique item. Additionally, you can have your initials embroidered (up to 3 letters, uppercase letters only) for an extra charge.
