Gentlemen's social gatherings


Salon de Shimaji, which has served as a social gathering place for gentlemen and a learning center for life since September 2012, will be closing in just two weeks.


Shimaji: "I feel a little sad, but I'll do my best until the very end! The next step in my life is also steadily progressing. If you're interested, please come and ask me directly."

Although we feel a sense of loneliness, all of us on the staff, along with Ms. Shimaji, will see this through to the very end.

Katsuhiko Shimaji is the producer of the Isetan Men's Residence Salon de Shimaji, located on the 8th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Born in 1941, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and joined Shueisha. He was assigned to "Weekly Playboy" and became its editor-in-chief in 1983, where he created a sensation with the "Life Advice" column featuring Renzo Shibata, Toko Kon, and Ken Kaiko as respondents, growing the magazine into a million-copy publication. He later served as editor-in-chief of "PLAYBOY Japan" and "BART." After serving as the representative director of Shueisha International, he retired in 2008. He is currently a writer and essayist.
