Last Sunday, we opened the shop unusually quietly, and for a while, only two regular customers were there.

Customer: "It looks like we have the place all to ourselves today."

Shimaji: "Well, days like this are nice, aren't they? Let's have a nice, long chat. It's hard to have a relaxed conversation when it's crowded."

The customer seemed unsettled, saying, "But it's a little lonely without the usual liveliness."

Shimaji: "Don't worry! I'm praying with my spiritual power, so it'll get crowded soon. It's better to wait than to keep people waiting. Let's be patient and wait for other customers to come."

It was evening. Perhaps Shimaji's prayers had been answered, as the venue was packed as usual.

Shimaji: "See? I'm glad I waited."

Katsuhiko Shimaji is the producer of the Isetan Men's Residence Salon de Shimaji, located on the 8th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Born in 1941, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and joined Shueisha. He was assigned to "Weekly Playboy" and became its editor-in-chief in 1983, where he created a sensation with the "Life Advice" column featuring Renzo Shibata, Toko Kon, and Ken Kaiko as respondents, growing the magazine into a million-copy publication. He later served as editor-in-chief of "PLAYBOY Japan" and "BART." After serving as the representative director of Shueisha International, he retired in 2008. He is currently a writer and essayist.
