Savor Port Ellen.

Mr. Shimaji always drank the "Salon de Shimaji Original Bottle."
Since the original bottles were sold out, I was drinking Port Ellen for the first time in a while.


Shimaji: "It's been a while since I last drank it, but Port Ellen is delicious. It really lifted my spirits. It truly is the king of whiskies. Whisky lovers should definitely try it at least once!"

I was so excited to be back in Port Ellen after so long, and the conversation was fantastic – it was a really enjoyable weekend.

This distillery on Islay closed in 1983. It produces a highly rare whisky, often referred to as the "legendary whisky" or the "King of Whisky."

Katsuhiko Shimaji is the producer of the Isetan Men's Residence Salon de Shimaji, located on the 8th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Born in 1941, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and joined Shueisha. He was assigned to "Weekly Playboy" and became its editor-in-chief in 1983, where he created a sensation with the "Life Advice" column featuring Renzo Shibata, Toko Kon, and Ken Kaiko as respondents, growing the magazine into a million-copy publication. He later served as editor-in-chief of "PLAYBOY Japan" and "BART." After serving as the representative director of Shueisha International, he retired in 2008. He is currently a writer and essayist.
