JOHN LOBB 's iconic shoes are revived using the classic "8695 last"!

When asked about the world's finest shoe brands, JOHN LOBB is always mentioned. Since its founding in 1866, it has a long history and tradition of creating bespoke shoes for royalty, nobility, and VIPs worldwide. Its numerous renowned masterpieces have solidified its unshakeable position. As a member of the Hermès Group, it receives the highest quality leather, and it is well known that it is a top maison for both bespoke and ready-to-wear shoes.

Many of the brand's iconic shoes have been modernized to suit the times, with updated lasts and details. However, in the spring of 2020, ISETAN MEN'S will be re-releasing three "old" models—"City," "Philippe," and "Chambord"—as a special limited edition. While the current models of "City" and "Philippe," "City II" and "Philippe II," both use the 7000 last, which has a slightly long nose and round toe, these three models all use the same 8695 last as the originals. The slightly voluminous form is both nostalgic and fresh, making them shoes that you'll want to wear especially in today's era.

"City" ¥196,000 Isetan Shinjuku Store Exclusive

The straight-tip "City" boasts a basic and simple design, yet it's a dress shoe that can be worn with everything from executive business attire to the most formal styles. It was discontinued in 2007 with the introduction of the current "City II," but its limited reissue at ISETAN MEN'S in 2011 generated considerable buzz. This second reissue makes it a must-have for any gentleman's shoe wardrobe, both as a first JOHN LOBB and as a lifelong investment. It's available exclusively in black calfskin.

"Philippe" 264,000 yen, Isetan Shinjuku store exclusive

The "Philip" punched cap-toe shoe, featuring perforations (decorative holes) on the upper and toe area, is considered one of the most quintessentially British shoes. Its delicate decorative work speaks to the craftsmanship, and it incorporates popular bespoke shoe details into a ready-to-wear shoe.

These beautiful shoes, suitable for any occasion and enhancing a noble impression from the feet up, are available in two colors: black Oxford calf and dark brown museum calf. Originally part of the classic line, like the "City" model, they have now been elevated to a prestige line. Attention to detail is evident throughout, including the beveled waist and seamless heel.

Even models that have been discontinued from the collection still have a strong following. The U-tip shoe "Chambord" is one such example. The triangle stitching on the upper leather and the skin stitching on the toe require advanced techniques. With its intricate construction and casual look, this model now features a classic rubber sole that provides excellent grip on any surface. In addition to black schvel calf leather, this model is also available in dark brown suede, which is easy to match with casual styles.

These three models will be unveiled at JOHN LOBB pop-up store, which will be held on the first floor of the men's department from Wednesday, February 5th.

"Lopez" 217,800 yen

Furthermore, a special Isetan-exclusive model of the popular "Lopez" loafer was ordered. The fact that they were able to commission a special color combination of black Courchevel calfskin and navy suede, a color symbolic of ISETAN MEN'S building, is a rare case on a global scale.

During this period, they will also be accepting "bespoke" orders with craftsmen invited from the UK, as well as "by request" pattern orders with no extra charge. This will be a rare opportunity to acquire a pair of shoes that are not available at JOHN LOBB 's directly managed stores or even in the UK—a one-of-a-kind item in the world.
