Random Identities | Expressing new identities that are not bound by trends or gender.

Stefano Pilati, who has served as a designer for numerous prestigious fashion houses, has launched his own brand, Random Identities, at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 2nd floor = Men's Creators.

In 2017, in keeping with the digital age, Random Identities first revealed their existence by releasing a teaser image on Instagram.

The brand's name, "Random," refers to the randomness of existence, while "Identities" signifies a response to that randomness. It continues to express a new, gender-neutral style where individuals find their identity not in trends, but in individuality, function, quality, and design.

Pilati says:

—The new generation of designers are proud of being amateurs. They don't understand the damage they are causing to society as a whole.

What angers me about the current state of the fashion industry is that fashion techniques and skills have become merely the application of ideas without accompanying methods. It has become a ready-made format. Everyone mistakenly believes that they can have an opinion on fashion simply by buying products, wearing them, and following trends. They don't care if they have no understanding or experience of the history or unique styles that fashion has gone through.

My brand aims to express my own sensitivity to discern refined taste and style. I've heard the phrase "chic doesn't sell" many times, but even if it doesn't sell, I will resolutely advocate for chic.

Having served as a designer for top fashion houses since the 1990s, Mr. Pilati's creations reflect the experience he has cultivated, and his meticulous attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from tailoring and design to silhouette and quality. Even seemingly chic items such as trench coats, polo shirts, and baggy pants are given a distinctive style through refined and precise cutting.

This winter, we encourage you to pay attention to these up-and-coming brands that are making an impact on the fashion world with their visions that are ahead of their time.
