Saturday, November 2nd, was the Rugby World Cup final, so Salon de Shimaji, which has many former rugby players and rugby fans, was quiet. However, the following day, Sunday the 3rd, was a huge success, perhaps as a reaction to the quiet Saturday.

Shimaji : "I was also excited about rugby. Japan made great progress, didn't they? On Saturday, I wanted to go home early to watch the final. After closing on Saturday, I predicted that tomorrow would be bustling with activity as a reaction to the previous day's events, and I was right."

In stark contrast to the calm atmosphere of Saturday, Sunday was a huge success with not only our regular customers but also customers from other regions and even overseas! Ms. Shimaji and the staff were extremely busy.

Shimaji: "Thank you so much for coming in such large numbers. It was a wonderful weekend meeting so many different people. Life is truly about encounters."

Katsuhiko Shimaji is the producer of the Isetan Men's Residence Salon de Shimaji, located on the 8th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Born in 1941, he graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University and joined Shueisha. He was assigned to "Weekly Playboy" and became its editor-in-chief in 1983, where he created a sensation with the "Life Advice" column featuring Renzo Shibata, Toko Kon, and Ken Kaiko as respondents, growing the magazine into a million-copy publication. He later served as editor-in-chief of "PLAYBOY Japan" and "BART." After serving as the representative director of Shueisha International, he retired in 2008. He is currently a writer and essayist.
